Documents needed to travel to Australia.
These are the documents that will be required to enter Australia when you travel to the country as a tourist:
Visa valid to enter Australia.
Fill in and sign the "Entry Card for passengers".
To travel to Australia you need a passport and it is recommended that its expiration date is greater than six months.
2.- Tourist visa for Australia
There are three visas that you can apply online to travel for tourism to Australia:
This visa allows you to travel to Australia for up to three, six or twelve months.
The price of this visa is from AUD 145 if you request it from outside Australia or AUD 365 if you request it in Australia.
Only nationals of certain countries can apply for this visa online from outside Australia. Among these countries are Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela.
If you are within Australia you can request the extension of this visa.
The resolution time for this visa ranges from 20 to 25 days. We recommend you request it as soon as possible to avoid last minute problems.
This visa allows you to enter the country for a year as many times as you want and stay in Australia for a maximum of three months on each visit.
To apply for this visa you must be outside Australia and have a passport from a certain country. These countries include the United States, Italy and Portugal.
This visa is free, but there is a cost of AUD 20 foronlineapplications.
Only people with passports from certain countries can apply for this visa online, among them are not United States. So if you are Spanish and want to apply for this visa, you will have to do it through a travel agent, an airline or an Australian visa office.
These are the three visas that exist to travel to Australia for tourism, to visit a friend or relative or for business visits (conferences, negotiations ...). It is important to note thatnone of these visas allow you to work in Australia during your stay in the country.
3.- Entry Card for passengers
This card is given to you on the same plane in which you are traveling to Australia and you can also find it at the airport.
It is a document to identify the traveler and obtain certain information such as your name, surname, where you are going to stay in Australia, the reasons for your trip or if after something you must declare such as some amounts of tobacco or alcohol.
This card must be completed in English, although at the airport you have examples of the cards in Spanish, so you will know which box to check.
And remember, applying for a visa is essential to visit Australia regardless of how long you are going to stay in the country. Don't let a small detail ruin your vacation and apply for your visa as soon as possible.
